Romania

13 hours of travel, 4 different states to cross, different climate, different nature, all of this to attend a seminar on the Roma genocide, to know and understand more and more the culture of which I am working in this year of service and whose the world seems to have forgotten.

I think about all that dead is not enough, and that Europe gives little importance to this problem. We do not talk about enough of all those victims who died several years ago and still continue to die with our silence.

Spending a week in a small village in Romania, people from all over Europe and beyond, all ready to ready to remember, to share their views with others, ready to mix their culture with others. Through communication / non-formal education, we put into play, and through play we learned new things, things that you'll never learn from books.

Holocaust and remember, these are the keywords of the seminar, strong words, which seem already seen and magazines.

We believe that after studying at school that "big" chapter of World War II we know everything and we can go on, but in straight lines that "big" chapter is not nothing compared to years of life of hundreds and thousands of men.

We had the opportunity to learn about one of the survivors in the concentration camp in Transnistria, we listened for more than two hours, and it was something magical and heartbreaking at the same time.

The pain in his eyes was so much, so much as it was his desire to continue to live to tell and let us not forget.

So keres Europe? What are you doing in Europe? It is the title of one of the events scheduled for July, to remember all the victims, and to remind Europe that has to move, he has to do something, because these people still live, are part of our society and we must not forget that.

In this seminar I met educated, intelligent, able to change, yes, because we unfortunately we go forward steriotipi, prejudices, often erroneous, that the company and the media want us to see. Some of them are even forced to flee from their city to work, because there is still homophobic people, who are afraid of them and what they could do. I believe that they, as well as everyone else, just want a place in this society of the new millennium, and we are no one to deny him.
